Biography

“Hello, I am Ben Gillette, and I want the opportunity to serve you on the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners. I believe when it comes to government, you should come first.”

Ben Gillette grew up in Sullivan Township and chose Fruitport as the place to raise his three children with his wife, Kaeleen. He was elected to the Fruitport Board of Education in 2007 where he currently serves. Ben is a local retail manager, in Fruitport, and believes in serving the community where he lives & works. He is not afraid to make the tough decisions to put you ahead of politics on the County Board.

Meetings of the County Board should be easily accessible to the majority of the county residents. Ben would like to move the meeting time from 4pm to 7pm to encourage public participation and attendance.

Ben believes we can do better in the county when choosing who serves on committees. Ben will work to ensure the most qualified candidates are selected over acquaintances.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Better Roads

The County has opportunities when it comes to the condition of our roads. Ben wants to reevaluate the way we do business on the County Road Commission so you have better roads.

POLITICAL REFORM

A More Accessible...

Our County Commissioner should be approachable & aware of what is happening in our district. Ben already attends many township and village meetings and will make himself available to all parts of the district if elected.
